Volcanic Earth

Volcanoes are the fastest geology there is. A mountainside can rearrange itself in an afternoon, and then take forty years to green over again. The films here watch both speeds: a plume punching through the stratosphere, and a Landsat sequence in which the grey fan of a debris avalanche fades back into forest, one summer at a time.
