Super Typhoon Bavi

The eye of a category-5 typhoon over the western Pacific, with precipitation and cloud-top data from NASA and partner satellites.

What to look for

Find the eye first, then follow the bands of rain spiralling in towards it. The precipitation layer shows where rain is falling, which is not always where the cloud looks thickest.
