Strata & Time

Landsat has photographed the same ground, from the same orbit, since 1972. Line the frames up and the landscape starts to move: meanders migrate and cut themselves off, braided channels swap places on a gravel plain, glacier tongues pull back and leave lakes in their wake, permafrost bluffs step inland a few metres a year. These are short films, but each one covers about forty years.
